We are lucky to have some of the most beautiful beaches around Riverside Park including Avon Beach, Southbourne, Hengistbury Head and Mudeford Spit but sometimes the weather has other ideas and a beach day isn’t possible. Or if you’re visiting us out of the summer season you won’t be bored as there are so many things to do in and around Christchurch.

Highcliffe Castle

Highcliffe Castle has been described as the most important surviving house of the romantic and picturesque style of architecture, which flourished at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. A popular wedding venue, it's also a wonderful attraction for all ages, learn about its 200 year history, join in their events from children’s activities to theatre shows. Then finish your trip in The Pantry cafe serving the very best of local & homemade produce. 

Moors Valley

Moors Valley Country Park is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a wide range of activities for all ages. Explore miles of scenic trails, perfect for walking or cycling. Enjoy thrilling adventures at the Adventure Play Areas, including Mini Land Rovers and Adventure Golf. Rent a bike and explore the park at your own pace, or discover the magical world of the Gruffalo and his friends. With a Play Trail, Tree Top Trail and more there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Snowtrax

Looking for a fun-filled day out for the whole family? Snowtrax is a great idea whatever the weather. Try spinning down their special slopes in a Ringo, or perhaps book a skiing or snowboarding lesson. There’s an Alpine Adventure Park, full of trampolines, swings, a huge fort and a life sized Pirate Ship too. If that all sounds too energetic you can feast on their gourmet burgers or sip on a freshly ground coffee while admiring the scenic surroundings.

Red House Museum & Gardens

Walking distance from Riverside Park is the Red House Museum & Gardens  A former Georgian workhouse, the Red House is now a museum exploring the story of Christchurch from before the Ice Age to modern times. Visit the bygone galleries and learn about the social and industrial life of Christchurch then explore the gardens and admire the view of Christchurch Priory. 

Bournemouth Aviation Museum

Different from many other museums Bournemouth Aviation Museum offers a hands on experience as visitors are encouraged to click into the cockpit of many of their aircraft. The museum includes a fire engine, double decker bus and more than 20 planes. Release your inner child and imagine what it is like to be a pilot by handling the controls and fly away to wherever your imagination desires.
